HOW TO IDENTIFY A PHISHING EMAIL

1
These emails are generally unexpected and unrequested and create a sense of urgency. They often threaten to lock / disable / close your account immediately, if you don’t act.
2
Phishing emails often attempt to trick you into clicking a link to "log in", or "update details". Hovering your mouse cursor over the link will show a fraudulent URL, potentially one that is very similar to a legitimate web address you expect.
3
They often contain misspellings and grammatical errors.
4
Be aware of the use of vague, generic greetings such as 'Dear customer'.
5
Always be sceptical of emails asking you to enter your username and password or sensitive data. If you are not completely sure about this, don’t do it.
